Wellness

Employee wellbeing is an important consideration for the modern business and to ensure that everyone working across the Brindleyplace estate (or visiting it) is able to take time out to care for their wellbeing, we’ve curated a collection of ’trails’ that are quick and fun to do.

Enjoy a brisk stroll in your lunchbreak, a few push-ups and tricep-dips before work or an early evening jog with friends and colleagues to wind down– we’ve made working out in the workplace easy for everyone!

Walking trails

The health benefits of walking are well-documented, but as well as improving general fitness and mobility, did you know that walking can also significantly reduce stress levels – especially when you factor in some fresh air! Just 10 minutes of walking lowers anxiety and depression and increases focus and creativity – so the next time you’re feeling a little frazzled, jump up from your desk and follow one of our walking trails!

There are two easy-to-follow trails for you to download here:

Exercise Trail

Sometimes the hardest part of any exercise plan is getting going!

To facilitate your summer fitness campaign, we’ve created the Brindley Exercise Trail – a series of 8 simple exercises to do at various locations around the estate. No equipment is necessary – use the walls, benches and steps we have in situ! Tone your body with exercises that can be simplified as you start out and then made more difficult by adding extra repetitions as you progress.

We’ve included step-by-step instructions and pictures so you can get your form completely correct, but with a few circuits you’ll be a pro in weeks!

Running Trails

Brindleyplace is the perfect area for running – it’s flat and surrounded by the scenic canals of Birmingham. No matter your time constraints, there is always a route to follow. Stretch your legs, breathe in some fresh air and take time to enjoy the nature around this oasis in the City!

We’re starting you off with two simple 5km routes, but if you want to run further or longer, simply complete the routes twice or more or add on extra bits!

The routes can be downloaded here:

Running Club

We know that for many people, a run is your time, a time to think, reflect and plan, but have you considered joining others for some social running too?

The Brindleyplace Running Club is in its infancy but is growing! Meeting on a Wednesday evening from 5:00pm in Central Square, we set off at 5:15pm for a leisurely 5km route down the canal. As the group grows, we will offer other routes and distances and hope to offer different days and times to accommodate everyone. Follow on the Brindley Social channels and App for notifications and club news!

Wellness suite

Additionally, to help create an atmosphere that promotes wellbeing, the estate has a dedicated Wellness Suite within 4 Brindleyplace that offers employees the opportunity to participate in lunchtime yoga sessions free of charge. The suite is also available to hire for tenants who wish to run their own classes or activities.

Brindleyplace boasts a harmonious waterside environment highly conducive to wellness. The large open spaces and outdoor seating of its two award-winning public squares provide the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the working day, while Birmingham’s historic canal pathways offer exploration, a peaceful and pleasant commute or a space to exercise.

The on-site gym and spa also offers convenient state-of-the-art facilities for fitness enthusiasts, while kayaking lessons and even beekeeping classes are available.
