Creating a better work environment

In a first for mixed-use estates across Birmingham, Brindleyplace has been awarded a ‘Green/Approved’ Modeshift STARS Travel Plan accreditation. This green accreditation is the first in a five-step scheme which recognises an organisation’s ongoing commitment to providing sustainable travel for employees and visitors.

Brindleyplace benefits from excellent public transport, including its own West Midlands Metro stop, while walking and cycling connections are accessible from all over the city.

There are also great facilities on site which support sustainable and active travel options, such as cycle storage both in many of the office buildings themselves and externally across the estate, along with EV charging stations for e-vehicles.

Brompton bike hire, public cycle parking, West Midlands Cycles and Beryl e-scooters are all easily located together at our Transport Hub on Oozells Street.

The estate’s battery-operated electric maintenance buggies also help to reduce reliance on fossil fuels for visitors, tenants and staff alike.

Regular beekeeping sessions are held throughout the year, where those who work here can learn more about the beehives on the estate and the impact that bees make to the environment around them. This is yet another way of demonstrating our commitment to biodiversity – and local staff.

Walking, cycling or scooting to work are all great ways of maintaining a healthier lifestyle, keeping fit, and helping the planet!
