The Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival sponsored by Deutsche Bank returns for its 14th year on Saturday 22nd June.
The corporate fundraising event, this year supporting HelpHarryHelpOthers, is considered by many to be the competition for businesses across the city. 22 teams will battle it out in a series of races along the canal from Pitcher and Piano, in Brindleyplace, up to the winning post at the NIA.
Prizes for the winning teams include:
- FIRST PRIZE – tickets to the Princess Royal stand at Aintree Racecourse for the final meeting of the season on Saturday 7th of December.
- SECOND PRIZE – a wine tasting evening in your own office courtesy of The Wine Tasting Company.
- BEST FANCY DRESS – dinner at Chamberlains Fish and Chips Restaurant in Oldbury.
- MOST MONEY RAISED (to be awarded after the event) – paintballing courtesy of Delta Force Charity Paintball at any one of their sites up and down the country.
In addition to the racing action along the canal, there is plenty of entertainment for spectators and supporters including the popular Chinese Lion Dancers, live music, a bouncy castle, face painting, a craft market, street entertainment and event hosting courtesy of Free Radio. There will also be an opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
