We’re proud to host The Letter Tree in Central Square as part of the West Midlands Road Safety Partnership's Zero Tolerance to Road Harm campaign.
This powerful installation has been created by Transport for West Midlands, RoadPeace, and the West Midlands Road Safety Partnership to highlight the real human impact of dangerous driving.
What is The Letter Tree?
Hanging from the purple branches are personal letters written by RoadPeace members, who are families who have lost loved ones or been affected by serious collisions. Each letter shares a moment, a memory, or a message to drivers across the region.
Visitors are invited to stop, read, reflect, and (if they wish) write their own pledge using the postbox beside the tree. These pledges are a simple way for everyone to support safer roads in the West Midlands.
How to get involved
- Visit Central Square between 19-23 November
- Read the letters hanging from the tree
- Write your own thoughts or pledge and post it in the on-site postbox
- Scan the QR code on the plinth to learn more about how the region is tackling road safety and to read the full letters online
