This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival and Brindleyplace is proud to have been involved since our inception.
This year the Bandstand at The Water’s Edge will host four different acts and we hope you’ll come along and enjoy a great variety of music.
Monday 22nd July – 12:30
Tenement Jazz Band
A five piece traditional jazz band who formed in early 2018 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Brought together by their shared love of early jazz, ragtime and blues, they are on a journey of exploration back to the roots of the music that they play.

James Oliver Band
One of the UK’s busiest acts as well as one of the most passionate, playing over 300 gigs a year all over the UK, Europe, and the USA! In 2020 James won the UK Blues Awards Emerging Artist of the Year and has since been nominated three additional times.

Big Al Nicholls Band
Since leaving Leeds College of Music in 1986, Al Nicholls has built a huge reputation not only for his Texas tenor-style playing, but for his arranging skills which have graced many of the country’s top jump jive bands.
Thursday 25th July
Django Chutney
A trio from Brighton who play two guitars and a bass fiddle. They treat the Manouche tradition with a relaxed and playful virtuosity as well as taking on board a mixture of styles and material.
