Cherry Blossom Day

We want you to join us for our annual Cherry Blossom Day – Sunday 23rd March!

We’ve got lots of fun activities for all the family to enjoy and a nature-inspired concert to finish the celebrations off – all with the amazing backdrop of Brindley’s beautiful blossoms!

12 noon until 3:00pm

National Trust Blossom Trail

Our event partner, the National Trust will be sending kids off on a cherry blossom ‘trail’ starting from Central Square. They will also be helping children make Mother’s Day gifts inspired by the blossoms.

Array4Hogs

Hedgehog rescuing charity, Array4Hogs, will also be in Central Square letting people know about the stellar work they do rescuing endangered and injured hedgehogs.

Ikon Gallery

From painting the pretty pink flowers on easels in Oozells Square, to printmaking and an art picnic, Ikon Gallery will be adopting the Japanese ‘hanami’ theme with art activities for the whole family to take part in.

X, 10 Brindleyplace

A small indoor Cherry Blossom market with Japanese-inspired craft and fabric stalls selling gifts will take place in X, 10 Brindleyplace.

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group Blossom Concert

BCMG will perform at their fourth Cherry Blossom concert, playing sounds inspired by nature. The music for this special event will follow the life cycle of a tree – from using living trees and plants as instruments, to utilising the refined sound of the violin. You can see the full schedule here.
(Wet weather venue is X, 10 Brindleyplace)

So put Sunday 23rd March in your diary and plan to spend a fun-filled afternoon at Brindleyplace!
