Christmas Cheer for Barnardo’s

Over the festive period, instead of sending traditional Christmas cards, Unity Trust Bank produced an e-card and made a donation of £150 in lieu of paper cards to Brindleyplace’s nominated charity – Barnardo’s Gift Tree Appeal.

Additionally, the money collected from ‘dress down Fridays’ totaling an extra £150 was used to buy presents for the appeal.

The Gift Tree Appeal initiative makes a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children across the Midlands who suffer abuse, discrimination and depravation and live in poverty, by ensuring they have at least one present to open on Christmas morning. This year over 1,200 presents were donated by local businesses including Brindleyplace based Unity Trust Bank.

Tracey Coleman, Service Support Worker for Barnardo’s comments: “We really appreciate all the hard work and generosity from companies such as Unity Trust Bank. The children were overwhelmed with the wonderful presents that were donated and the thought put in to them. The presents made a fantastic Christmas for all involved.”
