This notice is to inform you about a number of work activities taking place on Broad Street as part of ongoing maintenance for the Birmingham Westside Metro Extension over the next few weeks.
Between Sunday 19 October and Friday 31 October (excluding weekends), in conjunction with a localised suspension of tram services, the section of Broad Street between Ryland Street and Sheepcote Street will close to through traffic between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 the following morning. During this period cable replacement activity will take place, which will involve a level of noise.
Additional work will also take place at several crossing points along the entire length of the road, with overnight work and localised diversions in place. These activities may also include a level of noise.
Please note, the underpass will be closed twenty-four hours a day during this period, and be aware there are operational bus gates in the area.
Activity is already taking place in some locations on Broad Street, but there is no significant highway incursion until the evening of Sunday 19 October.
Our Stakeholder Liaison Manager, Tom Bissell, can be contacted on the details below should you have any questions about the work, or require further information about the project.
