Every minute of every day, an average of 113,200 aluminium cans are recycled worldwide.
In the UK, around 5.9 billion cans are recycled per year – that’s enough to circle the world almost 18 times if laid end to end!
We want to play a role in Global Recycling Day, so Brindleyplace is launching our ‘Bring Back the Blossom’ recycling initiative in collaboration with our waste management partner, Greenzone.
Can you help?
We are asking everyone to collect cans and tins and then, later in the year we will unveil a giant repurposed blossom sculpture in Oozells Square.
Please place your empty cans and tins in the big purple recycling bank in Oozells Street and we’ll take care of the rest.
Every can or tin you put in the bank will be collected, crushed and then carefully curated to become an integral part of our blossom sculpture. We can’t wait for the cans to come in and work to begin!
Everyone loves the Brindley Blossoms – let’s bring them back!
The recycling bank was kindly donated by Heartlands Facility Management.
