Brindleyplace continually strives to make our estate and the planet a greener place and as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we will be recycling the Brindleyplace Christmas tree which has been standing in Central Square so it can be used for another purpose.
On Friday 10th January, the Brindleyplace Christmas tree will be transformed into mulch by experienced tree surgeons, and we will be offering bags of mulch to our tenants to take home for their gardens.
Pine wood and needles are ideal materials for mulch, offering excellent moisture retention and weed suppression. They are the perfect material to spread around trees and shrubs, and mulching offers many benefits for flower beds, borders, planters, and pots. It helps the soil maintain moisture, protects the plants in the winter, and helps with weed control. Mulch also boosts soil health by breaking down and contributing to soil fertility over time. What’s more – mulch made from pine trees repels unwanted pests such as ticks, gnats, and fleas!
The large tree will generate about a tonne of mulch.
