We’ve got some exciting fitness activations coming your way in a short time so here’s an advanced warning that you need to search out those jogging bottoms (or lycra leggings), gym tops and trainers. It’s time to get fit for Summer and we’ve covered all bases to provide you with some easy and fun ways to get in better shape!
First up, you can ease yourself in with some gentle strolls around the estate and follow our walking trails. Join up with a colleague for a lunchtime meander followed by an al fresco lunch and feel the stresses of the morning melt away! Alternatively go it alone at pace and burn off the calories you’re about to eat!
Next, we’ve been busy working on an Exercise Trail. Follow a 7-minute walking route that has 8 exercise stations along the way making use of the steps, benches and bridges around Brindley. For example, you’ll do wall sits at Sea Life and tricep dips on the lovely stone benches in Oozells – so while there may be a little pain, there’s definitely a lot of gain in the lovely surroundings!
Our third trail option is a running one. Downloadable routes for you to follow on your own or with friends – click on the link and follow the route on your phone. However, what we’d really like, and we think you would too if you give it a try, is for you to join us for the Brindley Running Club. We are so happy to announce that our running club is getting off the ground. Join us on a Wednesday evening or Tuesday lunchtime for a gentle jog (or if you’re a bit of a pro, a run at a speedier pace). We’re starting off with 5k routes, but as the group grows, then we can add different distances. Simply turn up on the day – we’ll be meeting outside X+Why in Central Square.

The Walking Trails, Running Trails and Exercise Trail will be available to download on the Brindleyplace website. Our Summer of Fitness will begin on June 14th with a 5:00pm run from X + Why and all walking, trail and running routes will be available for download on our website… we’d love you to get involved and get fit for Summer!
Don’t forget to take pictures of you and your colleagues exercising, walking or running and post on socials! Use the hashtag #summeroffitness #brindleyplace
