GoBoat is back in action canalside at Brindleyplace for another season of fun and adventure on the city’s waterways.
The boats have all had a spring clean and are ready to set sail once again, allowing locals and tourists alike to explore Birmingham’s beautiful waterways in a unique way.
With its fully electric engines, GoBoat is not just an enjoyable way to see the city, but a sustainable way too.
Recently the Brindleyplace team experienced GoBoat for themselves
The sun was shining and it was an ideal day to get out onto the water.
On arrival, the six of us we were welcomed by the friendly GoBoat staff who went through all of the safety precautions, showed us how to pilot the boat, and stayed with us until we felt comfortable enough to set sail by ourselves.
The boats come with whistles, an emergency phone number and a map highlighting the various routes and attractions available within an hour of Brindleyplace.
As we navigated our way down the canal towards Port Loop, we enjoyed a leisurely and peaceful ride, taking in the views and waving at fellow boaters and those enjoying the canal towpaths.
One of the standout features of GoBoat is the fact you can bring your own food onboard, so you can enjoy a picnic while taking in the stunning sights and sounds of the city from a totally different perspective.
From sleepy canal banks to shiny new homes, hotels, restaurants, offices and apartments, the journeys to and from Brindleyplace help show the story of Birmingham and reveal a green city full of wildlife and nature as well as new development.
GoBoating is a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours and should definitely be added to everyone’s summer bucket lists.
