Essential traffic signaling maintenance works will take place overnight this week
Please be advised of essential maintenance works due to take place on Broad Street to install traffic signal loops with the aim of improving overall signal timings.
The activity begin at 9pm on Thursday 8 December and is expected to be completed overnight by 4am on Friday 9 December.
During this time there will be some localised traffic changes:
• The slip road from Five Ways Island to Broad Street will be closed with a clearly marked diversion route in place via A4540, Friston Avenue, Ruston Street, Grosvenor Street West, Sheepcote Street to Broad Street;
• Inbound buses will still be able to access Broad Street directly from Five Ways via the underpass but bus stops approaching the slip road will be suspended;
• Between 1am and 4am there will be no vehicular access along certain sections of Broad Street;
• Trams service is unaffected.
