Brindleyplace introduces dedicated wellness consultant, Laura Clayton.
The past 2 years have created pressures in everyday life in addition to those normally associated with work. Brindleyplace is taking the initiative to create an environment that supports wellbeing by introducing the very first dedicated Wellness Consultant in Birmingham.
Laura Clayton, founder of Soul Sanctuary, will be leading the proposition that will be hosted in a dedicated repurposed wellness hub at 4 Brindleyplace which is supporting the estate-wide campaign to promote wellness and help businesses encourage people back to the workplace.
Taster sessions will be held in March and promoted as ‘Wellness Wednesdays’ with a range of classes and additional benefits available to employees throughout the estate. Options such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness classes will be accompanied by mental and physical health courses.
Laura Clayton was formerly a global advertising executive. She created Soul Sanctuary nearly ten years ago. Having personally experienced the stress and burn-out so commonly felt in the corporate world, Laura felt determined to help others who may be feeling the same. Laura now owns yoga studios and delivers wellness programs to an array of clients including Shell, EDF, Bosch, Hermes, HSBC, to name a few.
Statistics from the Health and Safety Executive during 2020/21 suggest that stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 50% of all work-related ill health cases. Of the 822,000 suffering from such symptoms an estimated 449,000 reported that this was caused or made worse by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Laura commented: “Bringing wellness initiatives to Brindleyplace is so exciting. The fact that so many people from different businesses will be able to access a range of options on their workplace doorstep means that the logistics challenge has been taken out of the equation. I sincerely hope that by providing this service we can do our bit for people’s wellbeing in Birmingham.”
Matt Long, Head of Customer Engagement and Placemaking at Brindleyplace, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Laura to Brindleyplace. Supporting our businesses and their employees is absolutely paramount and introducing our dedicated wellbeing consultant will help everyone maintain a good work-life balance. Brindleyplace is committed to providing an environment that goes beyond purely office space and has a constant eye on how the workplace can become a destination that people look forward to spending time at and maximising all the facilities on offer.”
