Persian dining concept set to launch at Brindley

A brand new fine dining concept featuring dishes from across the Persian Empire is set to open at Brindleyplace this year!

Qavali, named after a style of Sufi devotional singing and originating from the Arabic word qual meaning “to speak”, will offer a range of delicious dishes inspired by Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Indian cuisine. A fit out of the restaurant will begin shortly, including designs referencing the history and culture of the region. It is expected that Qavali will open to the public in 2021, depending on restrictions in light of Covid-19.

Deni Sharankova, Marketing Director at FB Holdings who own the Qavali brand, said: “Qavali will offer a dining experience like no other and to bring this vision to life at Brindleyplace is hugely exciting for us. Birmingham has an extremely varied culinary scene, and we feel Qavali will be able to bring something different and new to foodies throughout the city.

“Our menu will be full of rich new dishes which have been inspired by a diverse region, which for many remains relatively unexplored in terms of cuisine. Qavali will provide a high-dining experience within an environment to match and will help further broaden the horizons of our future guests.

“We can’t wait to open our doors for the first time later this year, and hope to be able to welcome our first customers sooner rather than later.”

James Campbell Adamson, Asset Manager for Brindleyplace, commented: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer a truly unique dining experience at Brindleyplace, and can’t wait to hopefully see Qavali open its doors later this year.

“Brindleyplace has long been established as one of Birmingham’s premier leisure destinations and this deal shows that confidence remains high that the estate remains a top choice for those looking to run successful businesses in the industry. We’re looking forward to being able to welcome the public back to the estate when it is safe to do so, and to see Qavali thrive and add to our culinary scene. “

Scott Robertson, Director at Creative Retail, said: “We are delighted to have played our part in bringing Qavali to Brindleyplace and believe this concept will represent an exciting point of difference for the estate.

“FB Holdings have a proven track-record in adapting their venues to suit each location to ensure success and I have no doubt they will complement the existing offer at Brindleyplace.”
