While this year Valentine’s Day will be celebrated under very different circumstances, the good news is there is nothing stopping you enjoying some of the finest dining at Brindleyplace from the comfort of your own home.
Argentinean steakhouse Pulperia is the creation of Michelin-starred chef Aktar Islam, and Pulperia has recently been featured in the Michelin Guide for 2021 less than a year after opening at Brindleyplace and is the only Steak restaurant in the city to have been listed on the guide.
The restaurant has put together a Valentine’s Day tasting menu and wine pairing inspired by its dishes, which includes all of the best and freshest ingredients complete with a 1kg Miguel Vergara Angus ribeye raised between the meadows of Salamanca and the mountains of Leon in Spain.
Aktar said the tasting menu was as close to fine dining as you could possibly get during lockdown.
He said: “Food is a social binder which brings everyone together from all walks of life and is universally loved. I’ve never met anybody in my life who doesn’t like food.
“What we’ve tried to do with our tasting menu is give you all the ingredients you need to create an experience as close as possible to what you would expect from our food at Pulperia.
“You would expect between 20 and 30 people to be working on the meals we serve at Pupleria throughout the process, so while it cannot be recreated it exactly, our menu takes all of the hard work out of the preparation and gives you everything you need to impress your partner or loved ones.
“The menu includes the finest ingredients which we use in house and a fantastic bottle of wine which has been chosen specifically to match with the menu, so you can be assured that you’ll be able to cook up something really special in the comfort of your own kitchen.”
