Cello performance in Central Square

Join us in Central Square this Thursday for a magical evening of live contemporary music.

Ikon are partnering with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group to bring you an enchanting programme of music to celebrate their reopening on Thursday 20th August at 6pm.

BCMG cellist Ulrich Heinen will perform a captivating programme of contemporary works as a prelude to their forthcoming outdoor performance in Hannover later this month. The performance will include Stockhausen’s Zodiac, inspired by the star signs and zodiacal personality traits.

After closing its doors in March, Ikon are delighted to be reopening and welcoming visitors with new guidelines to ensure a safe experience for everyone, including one-way systems, hand sanitiser stations and reduced capacity.

John Newling’s Dear Nature and Judy Watson’s exhibition have been extended until the 6th September to allow audiences extra time to visit. However, if you cannot make a trip to Ikon in time you can still visit the exhibition online, alongside a programme of films, artist interviews and family activities.

If you are passing through Brindleyplace to view the performance, please ensure you adhere to social distancing regulations.

We can’t wait to welcome Ikon back to Brindleyplace, and what better way than with an outdoor live performance of cosmic music by BCMG.

Don’t miss out...
