Sustainability Forum
Brindleyplace Estate has established its own Sustainability Forum. The Forum is made up of tenants across the Brindleyplace Estate with participants from all ten office buildings. It also benefits from the experience of organisations including The Carbon Trust, Be Birmingham and Envirowise.
The mission statement for the Forum reads: "The tenants of Brindleyplace, through the Sustainability Forum, have agreed to work together to reduce carbon emissions and adopt a positive approach to sustainability across the development. Working in Partnership with Be Birmingham, we are embracing their targets for the City, whilst sharing best practice and initiatives amongst the Forum. Through the targets and action plans formulated, it is our aim to become the most sustainable development in the City."
Champions for task forces (behavioural change/good practice, utilities, procurement, green transport plans, waste and recycling and social responsibility) have been identified and action plans are currently being formulated to target key areas and agree objectives. This information will be shared with tenants and progress communicated through a variety of communication methods including newsletters, posters, website and events over the coming months.
Keith Budden, Head of Sustainability Be Birmingham and Manager Birmingham Environment Partnership, stated "It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be involved with Brindleyplace both as a representative of Be Birmingham, the city's Strategic Partnership and now as a tenant of Chamberlain House. You have really demonstrated leadership and a real committment to action and not just talk!"
If you would like to submit ideas for consideration by any of the task forces please send your ideas to thegreenteam@brindleyplace.com.
