Brindleyplace Here to Help You
The Government's no smoking law will be implemented across England from 6am on 1st July 2007. It will ban smoking in all enclosed and and substantially enclosed public places, including workplaces and vehicles used for work such as company cars and taxis.
The law is expected to encourage 700,000 smokers to kick the habit in England, although it is thought that only 2-3 per cent of smokers who go "cold turkey" successfully kick the habit for good.
From 16th January, the Heart of Birmingham teaching Primary Care Trust Stop Smoking Service will be providing "Smoking Cessation Clinics" at Brindleyplace every Tuesday, 8.30am - 12pm and Thursday, 3pm - 7pm. The clinics run for 8-10 weeks and will be based in the Hanki Sport Cafe at Bannatyne's.
Clinics will provide support and advice from an NHS Stop Smoking advisor as well as an eight week supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy, all for a one off charge of £6.65.
