Brindleyplace Blooms
The prominent two metre by two metre 3D Manta Ray made of flowers was created by Birmingham Parks and Nurseries. Unveiled on June 28th it will feature in Brindleyplace until the end of the summer.
Other highlights in Brindleyplace include 800 Buxas plants behind Costa Coffee in Central Square, planted in rows which when fully grown will mesh together and clipped. Large wooden planters are positioned by Lloyds TSB Bank, including trachycarpus wagnerianus and geraniums.
Finally a hot pink sophina and verbena trail adds drama to the bandstand near the NIA Bridge. Olivia Harris, Head of Marketing and Communications, commented: "The flower trail really brightens up Birmingham and the whole city looks beautiful in bloom. As the focal point of the display, the Manta Ray looks fantastic and outside The National Sea Life Centre was an obvious place for it to be."
