FAQs

1. What are the opening hours of the car park?
The car park is open 24 hours. It is safe and secure with 24 hour coverage by CCTV and security personnel.

2. Is the car park safe?
Brindleyplace prides itself on providing the safest, cleanest and most secure car parks in Birmingham. We provide 24 hour security personnel along with 24 hour CCTV. The customer service desk is also manned 24 hours a day & the car park has a regular cleaning regime.

3. If I pre-pay for my parking will I be able to get out of the car park quicker?
It depends on the volume of traffic, which can be heavy during busy periods,it is recommended that you pre-pay during these periods to avoid a possible queue when returning to pay later on.

4. Why can’t I park in the roads and bays around Brindleyplace?
The areas around Brindleyplace are for access only. The bays you see are for delivery vehicles. Please note that there is a clamping policy within Brindleyplace.

6. Are there any public toilets/baby changing facilities nearby?
There are toilets and baby changing facilities opposite the Customer Services desk in the multi-storey car park.

7. Where can I get a taxi?
If you have booked a taxi it will wait for you alongside in between Central Square and Four Brindleyplace. (adjaceent to the National SEA LIFE Centre) Otherwise there are a number of taxi ranks along the length of Broad Street.

8. Where is the Vehicle Licensing Centre?
Edward Street off King Edwards Road opposite the main entrance to the National Indoor Arena.

9. Where is Austin Court/Institute of Electrical Engineers?
Behind the Malt House pub on the other side of the canal opposite the SEA LIFE Centre.

10. Is there disabled access to ICC/NIA/towpath?
ICC can be accessed via a Brewmasters Bridge (behind Three Brindleyplace). NIA is accessed via a bridge at the SEA LIFE Centre. For acess to the towpath we have a lift available at the side of All Bar One. Also note that for wheelchair users there are various flat surfaces amongst the cobbles and ramps at differing levels throughout Brindleyplace.

11. How do I get to Birmingham New Street Station?
10-15 minute walk.  Walk through The Water’s Edge across the bridge into the ICC, across Centenary Square, through Paradise Forum, Chamberlain Sq and Victoria Sq and straight down New St.

12. How do I get to Snow Hill Station?
10-15 minute walk. Through The Water’s Edge across the bridge into the ICC, across Centenary Square, through Paradise Forum and into Chamberlain Square. Keep left of Chamberlain Square and walk through and past an attendant kiosk in between the two buildings. Walk straight down Edmund Street to Livery Street. Turn right and up the pavement beside a car park entrance to Snow Hill Station. Either take the ramp up and through the car park or follow the pavement up and to the left for the main entrance.

13. How do I get to the M5, M6 and M42 motorways or the Airport/NEC?
All motorways are sign posted from either end of Broad Street.
For the M5 follow the A456 in the direction of Kidderminster.
For the M6 follow the A38(M) in the direction of Sutton Coldfield. For the M42 follow the A34 in the direction of Solihull.
For the Airport or NEC follow the A45 in the direction of Coventry.

14. Where is the nearest Tourist Information Centre?
The nearest is within the ICC. Over the bridge at The Waters Edge once inside the ICC go up the steps and to the left. The Tourist Information Centre is just beyond the café. Note that Brindleyplace also has an information centre which has details on services at Brindleyplace and also information on Birmingham.

15. Where is the nearest cashpoint?
There are three ATM machines at Brindleyplace:
Barclays is located opposite Boots in The Waters Edge.
Lloyds TSB is opposite the post box/EAT in Oozells Street.
NatWest is between the Information Centre and Spar.

16. Where are the nearest public telephones?
There are two located in Brunswick Arcade.

17. Where is the nearest Post Office?
The nearest Post Office is off Victoria Sq (top corner of New St / junction of Pinfold St). If you need stamps they can be purchased from Spar and the nearest post box on site is at the bottom of the steps by EAT.

18. Where is the Brasshouse Language Centre?
From Sheepcote Street, exit Brindleyplace to the island, take second exit and the centre is on the right hand side.

19. Where is SACO@Livingbase?
SACO@Livingbase is the serviced apartments within Eight Brindleyplace.

20. Can I take photographs here?
There are no restrictions on students / tourists / visitors taking photographs, however, commercial or professional photography must gain permission from the Management Office (Tracey Lester). Photography cannot commence until a permit has been obtained.

21. Can you recommend somewhere to eat/drink at Brindleyplace?
There are a wide variety of restaurants and cafés/bars here, a comprehensive list of all venues is available under the What’s Here section of this website, there is also a Brindleyplace Guide Booklet available on site or from Tourist Information Centres which provides maps and details of everything available at Brindleyplace.

22. What is the Brindleyplace Smoking Policy?
It is the policy of Brindleyplace General Partner Limited as a Landlord to introduce a smoke free policy as all tenants and employees have a right to work in a smoke free environment. The policy came into effect on 1st July 2007 and will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Smoking is prohibited throughout all of the buildings, basements and car parks in Brindleyplace with no exceptions. This policy applies to all tenants, employees, consultants, contractors, customers and visitors.
