Oars at the Ready!
March 1, 2010 |
Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival 2010 in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital will take place on Saturday 26th June, 10am until 4pm.
The Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival is the estate’s biggest event of the year and incorporates up to 20 teams in Chinese Dragonboats racing up the canal in a series of heats. Throughout Brindleyplace, on the day, there is also a variety of Chinese themed entertainment including Lion Dancers and live music.
Be part of the event, now in its eleventh year, by encouraging your company to enter a team and go head to head with other businesses from around the City in a fantastic team building, competitive yet fun event. Alternatively encourage a group of friends to form a team! There will be team prizes for first, second and third places and a prize for the best fancy dress and the most amount of money raised for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
You will need to recruit a team of 12 rowers and 1 drummer and commit to raise a minimum of £1,250 which will ALL be donated to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The race starts at the Pitcher and Piano in Brindleyplace and the winning post is at the NIA, each team will get the chance to race in a minimum of three heats.
This year please help us to exceed £30,000 which was our record amount raised by supporting the event and therefore such an important charity.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event to enable additional money to be raised for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital then please contact Louise McCathie, Head of Business Development, on 0121 333 8420 or email Louise.McCathie@bch.nhs.uk
A registration form will be on the website in the next few weeks but in the mean time if you would like to enter a team or you have any queries about the event then please contact Kate Gregson at Brindleyplace on 0121 600 5814 or email kategregson@brindleyplace.com
