It’s Otter-ly freezing
January 11, 2010 |
Brindleyplace Sea Life’s resident otters are making the most of the chilly weather by bravely leaving their warm beds and partaking in snowball fights.
The asian short-clawed otters, sisters Mango, Apricot, Kiwi and Pumpkin, wouldn’t let a few snowflakes get in the way of their fun as they played games with staff at the centre.
“Otters are playful by nature and usually love ball games” said curator Graham Burrows. “We simply rolled the snowballs and pushed peanuts inside to get them really excited – luckily this time there was no fighting between them!”
The otters, who usually favour warmer climates, have also been enjoying other treats in the form of frozen fish head lollipops.
