Global Chefs Challenge

Aaron Darnley top

Aaron Darnley, chef at Edmunds is representing England in the junior heats of the WACS Global Chefs Challenge in Chile this January.  A big competition widely recognised throughout the catering industry, this will be a huge achievement for Aaron.

Participants will be evaluated according to official WACS rules.  They will be required to prepare four dishes in a limited time to serve the twelve members of the jury.  The main ingredients will be exactly the same for all participants, and the host country will determine the selection of these ingredients.

The members of the jury, Southern Europe’s best experts and chefs, will evaluate the presentation, originality and innovation of the dishes prepared, as well as the taste, flavour and composition.  After their deliberations, the winner will be presented with the award and will represent Southern Europe at the Grand Finale in Santiago de Chile this month.

Alimentaria Lisboa will host the Southern European finale of the prestigious WACS Global Chefs Challenge competition from the WACS, an event of great importance for international gastronomy and the restaurant and food service industry.
